SZA's Ctrl a complex portrayal of modern love
Genre: R&B, Alternative
SZA's 2017 album Ctrl is a beautiful depiction of what it means to be the other woman. She evokes what it means to question yourself in a relationship, to doubt if love is real or even if your worthy of love.

The opening track Supermodel begins with a lone guitar strumming a simple and repetitive chord Sza then bluntly describes the relationship of her toxic ex-boyfriend and her insecurities. She sets the tone: “Let me tell you a secret/I been secretly banging your homeboy/Why you in Vegas all up on Valentine's Day?”. Describing the time where her ex- boyfriend left her on Valentine's Day so she took revenge by sleeping with his friend. Over the whole song, she repeats the line "I could be your supermodel If you see it in me I don't see myself...." pondering her self worth Sza redefines what it means to be confident yet vulnerable in a relationship filled with pain.
